Podiatrists are medical doctors who specialise in the treatment of the foot and ankle. In the UK, you can usually get these treatments from a podiatrist without having to pay out of pocket.

A lot of podiatrists offer free treatment, so make sure you ask for them when you need them. There are certain conditions you can get treatment for, and you may need to make appointments with a podiatrist in advance.

You can get treatment for foot problems in the NHS, but sometimes you may need to pay for extra cardiff podiatrist treatments. For example, if you need to remove stitches from a wound or apply skin glue, you will have to pay for these yourself.

You may be able to find information about how to find a health centre near you, or you can phone the NHS Direct service for advice. You can always check with your GP or Practice nurse about whether they provide podiatry care for their patients.

The NHS provides free medical treatment to patients without any charge to them.

If you are over 18 years old, you should normally be entitled to this. This does not apply if you are in need of emergency care. If you are under 18, you will usually need to pay to see a Health Service provider.
